Bowling

After our ward Christmas party, some of my family decided to go bowling. We used to bowl off and on in Tremonton, but Livvy had never been old enough to do it before. She absolutely loved it. She would continually say- 'Is it my turn? Is it my turn?' Then when it WAS her turn she would make sure that everyone knew - 'IT'S MY TURN! IT'S MY TURN!' So excited- she was so dang cute. She'd run every time after she rolled the ball and hug Grandma and tell her how many she had knocked over.

Wyatt- having bowled before- was obviously an expert. He would let his dad help a little, but he really wanted to do it just like all the rest of us and BY HIMSELF! It was such a fun night and full of laughs at our wild and crazy kiddies.

Christmas Morning

Christmas this year was spent in Tremonton with Shelby's family. We had so much fun. Here is Wyatt showing off his pirate dress- up gear.
Livvy loved her water baby. It really does feel real.

However, her favorite thing that Santa brought her was her dress-up trunk. It came complete with three dresses and I added shoes, crowns, and jewelry to the mix. She would put it on every morning and only take it off for naps and then back on it would go!

She even forced her daddy to dress up like a princess AND her Uncle Steven. She even painted Steven's fingernails- this is a small miracle if you know these big tough guys. Little Livvy can make the men in her life do whatever she wants.
Wyatt was so thrilled to get the tool box and Nerf gun that he asked Santa for. Grandma Wendy also gave him a chainsaw- so he's set for helping his Dad. Don't you just love the goggles that came with the tool set- Safety first :)

A few hours after all of these pictures were taken and the kids were nestled back in their beds for a nap, the power went off. We had been dumped on by the snow on Christmas Day and it knocked the power off for most of the day and early evening. We had ham and potatoes all prepared to go into the oven and WHAM- no power! So Grandpa Jon browned some hamburger in the trailer and we 4-wheel-drived it a few miles up the road to Aunt Holly's house for tacos and games in the dark. The power did come back on as soon as we were finished eating- OF COURSE! But it sure made for a fun and memorable- Old Fashioned Christmas. We stayed in UT for the rest of the week. It was so fun to see the Beck Family at the Christmas Party- Here my cuzs that are all right close to my age are rocking out to Rock Band. I'd never played before, but now these crazy girls have got me hooked. Beck Family Girl Band- goin on tour Summer 2009! I loved seeing all of my friends and family from Tremonton. We missed you all so much and it was great to spend time with you again. We also got to see Justin and Amy Nessen who were in town for the holidays from Texas- we went on an anniversary date to the Mexican restaurant with them. We were all married a week apart back when Shelby and Justin were roommates and Amy and I were roommies as well. Good old days!

Sledding

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at Grandma Turner's house because Shelby was home sick with the flu and he is a grumpy bear when he is sick :). Aunt Fallon promised to take the kids sledding so we bundled them up for some fun. The first video Aunt Afton is panicking about running into the four-wheeler- hilarious. The second I just loved because Fallon is laughing so hard at Wyatt. Wyatt talked and asked questions the entire time that he was on the sled. Not so surprising to those of you who have spent time with him lately. He yells to me 'Mom- Am I doing so great at this?" Such a stud. Weston and Afton also took a few runs down Grandma's big hill. A fun afternoon.

Pre- Christmas Fun

Aunt Hailey came to visit the week before Christmas and as usual had a fun activity planned for her neice and nephews. They decorated rice krispie houses with icing and candy. They loved it. Dawon and Weston just ate the food coloring icing- those crazy boys.

Wyatt and Livvy were serious decorators. They wanted christmas lights on top and Livvy wanted a doorbell :)

Wyatt's antlers wouldn't stay up for anything, but he liked to be "Floppy" the reindeer he said.

The day before we had gotten together with some friends and decorated gingerbread houses made from graham crackers. The kids had a blast. Wyatt's is on the left and Livvy's is on the right. I can't believe they are still standing and haven't been picked to pieces.

Making Candy

Livvy is my sweet helper while Wyatt is at school. Today she showed off her new apron that her Great-Grandma Beck made her for Christmas and her new bangs while she helped me make fudge and toffee- so far.

Her job was to butter the pans and lick the beaters. She is really good at both of those things. Notice the line of chocolate around her lips. That's my girl!

It got stuck Mom!

There is nobody that loves snow more than Mr. Wyatt. He loves to shovel it, roll in it, throw it and most of all, eat it. Tonight while Mom was unpacking from our trip to Tremonton, Wyatt came up to me and showed me his tongue- see below. I said- 'Ouch- did you bite it?' as he had just previously been jumping on the couch in the movie room. 'No-he said- it got stuck.' Mmmmm- I thought- where would his tongue have gotten stuck? So I asked him to show me. He led me to the back door, opened it and showed me a tongue mark on the kickpad outside our door. Apparently Wyatt wanted to lick the snow - 'Just for a taste' he told me- and his tongue got stuck. He then ripped it off and has the 'owie' to show for it. I, sympathetic Mom that I am,- LAUGHED so hard.
We also had a great time in Tremonton this last weekend. We were able to take the kids to the great Christmas lights at Willard Bay, to see Santa and his REAL reindeer, and lots of playing with Grandma and Grandpa- not to mention a great night of shopping. Livvy also got her hair cut- with bangs! I'm not so sure yet, but I'm really sick of having to do it in little elastics every day since she cut her hair- so I'll deal with the bangs. Pictures to come soon when it is done cute.

10 hours and counting

Watch out cruel bargain shoppers- the Scoffield family is about to descend on you! Tonight at 5:00 you better watch yourselves! Ladies and gentlemen- tonight is the 'All Night Shopping Trip' that Shelby's extended family has every year. We load up in several suburbans and tahoes and hit the stores. We will close the following stores tonight- the mall, Target, Sportsmans Warehouse, Shopko, Cal-Ranch- and then we'll descend upon Wal-Mart. We'll probably stop to refill our energies with dinner somewhere around 10:30 or so and pull into home somewhere around 3:30 or 4:00 with not a single item left to buy including wrapping paper or stocking stuffers. I am so excited for this tradition with Shelby's family. Not only is it- SO stinkin fun, but since I don't live in Tremonton anymore I really miss all the fun stuff that they do together as a family. I was blessed to marry into one of the most amazing families and his aunts, mom, and cousins are some of my favorite people in the whole world. So I absolutley CANNOT wait to have fun tonight and spend the whole weekend with them.

Deck the Halls

Last week we pulled out all the boxes and decorated for Christmas. My kids love Christmas lights like nothing else. They were so excited that they could hardly stand it. Shelby helped Livvy hang lights on her 'cottage'. Then Livvy bossed Wyatt on how best to put up his lights on his tractor bed- that's my girl :).
Then they both attempted to 'help' decorate the tree. It will be a miracle if the tree stands until Christmas. It's mauled all day every day being 'rearranged or fixed'. Notice there are no presents under the tree- I learned my lesson last year. And though the kids are disappointed, there will not be any either until much, much closer to Christmas. Below is the semi-finished product of our tree.

On Saturday I took the kids to the Festival of Trees and to see Santa. Wyatt and Livvy were both so excited to see Santa. Wyatt jumped right up in his lap and started pounding him with questions including- 'Where is the North Pole?' 'Where are your reindeer?' 'How'd you not get stuck in the chimney?' The nice man skated around the answers and then asked Wyatt what he wanted for Christmas- Wyatt answered with a long list of things that Santa did not previously know he wanted. Now that Santa is completely DONE shopping, he will have to return something to at least get something on Wyatt's crazy list. Livvy on the other hand, after actually seeing Santa, decided that she wanted nothing to do with it. Since I had no reinforcements this year to take the picture while I held her there, there is no picture this year of Livvy with Santa. Santa only got a quiet 'thank you' from Livvy for her bag of goodies while she clung for dear life to my neck. So instead, I posted the lovely picture of her last year having a delightful experience on Santa's lap. Oh the joy of the holidays!

Do you want one?

I am doing the final touches on the list of those to get the coveted Christmas card for the Scoffield Family- just kidding. If you want one, please either leave me a comment with your address, or shoot me an email to weaz_23@yahoo.com . If you read our blog, we want you to have one! The more the merrier, so please give me your address- even if you think I already have it so I can make sure it's correct.

The Epitome of Wyatt

While Grandma Wendy was here to visit last weekend I found this picture on her camera. I busted out laughing. This is Wyatt in a nutshell. If he's excited about something- you'll know it. Here is he saying 'YYYYEEEESSSS!" complete with elbow-pull-down about going to get a cookie. He did the same thing today when we picked out a Christmas tree and I told him he could help me put the lights on. Small simple things make him this happy. What a boy.

Her Favorite Thing

Livvy with her new cousin Crew. All she wants to do is hold him.

Thanksgiving

We stayed in Gooding this year for Thanksgiving and had a great time. The kids were really excited to learn all about Thanksgiving. We made these fun turkeys for Family Home Evening to get the week started off right and read a few books about the history of Thanksgiving to teach the kids what the purpose of the big dinner and party was really all about.Wyatt made this cute Turkey hat at preschool and when I asked him to model it for me he put it on upside down and backwards. So cute.

On Wednesday we got together and made pies. We made raspberry, cherry, pecan and bought chocolate, banana, apple, and pumpkin. Laramie is quite proud of her first pie.
Aunt Hailey and Uncle Blake were so much fun. They planned a fun Turkey hunt for the kids after Thanksgiving Dinner. They put together their Indian hats, put on their binoculars, and grabbed their guns.

Aunt Hailey was so fun to plan such a fun activity for the kids. That's why she's the favorite!

Herculean Questions

The kids got to spend an evening with their dad last night. Shelby popped popcorn for them and turned on the Disney movie "Hercules" which they are really liking lately. About an hour into the movie Wyatt came to Shelby and asked him the following really hard to answer questions:

1) What is Gods?
2) What is a soul?
3) Where is hell?

Shelby's jaw just dropped. He was still in a little bit of shock when I got home. I don't know what Shelby told him, but since he's so articulate usually (not) I'm sure it was interesting.

Proud little Miss

She did it! She did it! She did it! Livvy pooped in the potty! We've been potty-training for two months now and Livvy is almost completely trained- #1 wise. She has NEVER pooped in the potty. I KNOW- CRAZY RIGHT? However this morning I caught her in the act and sent her in there and she is very proudly showing off the money that she got as a reward. Money? you may ask- Yes money. Livvy is VERY motivated by money. She plans to go to Kings today and buy a gold medal. Yay Livvy- Mommy is so proud!

Kitty Thief

Last Saturday Wyatt's kitty disappeared. Now I was not worried, because I am not particularly a fan of any feline creature. However, Wyatt was frantic. He had looked high and low for that kitty. Luckily he was also sick at the time and that helped us distract him. We figured that perhaps a coyote had gotten poor little 'Pumpkin'. Then on Monday evening I was at my Grandma Turner's house to play games with my fun cousins. My aunt Tracey (who lives 7 miles from my house) asked kiddingly if anyone had lost a kitty because one had turned up at her house. I said 'yes'. She said 'Is it orange?' and I said 'YES', but no way can it be our kitty- how would it have traveled the seven miles to your house? I called Shelby to see if he had been to Jack and Tracy's house and perhaps the kitty had been curled up on his flatbed. Nope. Hmmmmmmm....it must not be our kitty. Then it dawned on Shelby...............the kitty thief is...........BRIDGET! She had been to our house on Saturday night hanging out with me until late that night and apparently the kitty had snuggled up in the bed of her truck and hitch-hiked home to their house. Luckily Wyatt got his kitty back and we know to watch the kitty thief better the next time she comes around! :)

Update

The current count is:

1 otter
4 raccoons
2 beavers
2 coyotes

Hi Kloee and Piper- We miss you too and can't wait to see you cute girls soon!

Dancing Queen

While Wyatt is at school, Livvy and I often do both of our favorite thing: we DANCE! We love to rock out to all kinds of music and sing as loud as we can. I finally caught Livvy rockin' out to Sheryll Crow today. I probably should have moved Shelby's gun case so she didn't trip on it, but it was prime video time. I love this adorable girl.

Trapping Season has begun- Warning- may be graphic- not for young audiences- although my kids thought it was cool.

Trapping season has officially begun for Shelby. That once again means nights at home alone with the kids. But at least this time there is a possibility of profit! A few days into it has the score at the following:

  • 3 raccoons
  • 1 otter
  • 1 coyote
Above is the otter. Kinda cool if you've never seen one.

The coyote. Smell the money baby. Not too bad for a few days work. Good job Shelb!

Rexburg or Bust!

We left on Saturday morning to head up to Rexburg to spend some time with Blake & Hailey, and Shelby's brother Steven for the weekend. Shelby set Steven apart to be an Elder on Sunday- and I just had to blog about it. It's been a long wait, but I am so proud of Steven that I could bust. AND I'm proud of my wonderful husband that is always available and willing to use his priesthood. YAY STEVE!

That meant we got to spend time with Shelby's family as well- always my favorite thing to do. The kids loved swimming at the hotel with Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Jon. Then we were able to have a sleepover at Blake & Hailey's complete with a popcorn party. Add chillin at McDonald's with Jinger and the boys, and bowling with some of the guys that we used to hang out with all the time when we were single, makes it a great weekend. One to be remembered.

Tinkerbell and 'A Welder'

Halloween was great fun this year and very busy! Livvy dressed up like Tinkerbell and believe me the entire world knew what she was going to be weeks in advance. I had so much fun putting makeup and glitter on that girl and she loved every minute of it. So fun. Wyatt recently got these cool coveralls from a garage sale (Thank you Aunt Hailey!) and wanted to be a welder for Halloween. So we smeared some black face paint on him for dirt (trust me, welders are never clean) and gave him a helmet. But he only wore it for this picture and then he dubbed it 'too hot' and it was never to be seen on his head again. We did a trunk at the 3-ward Trunk or Treat in Gooding for the Elder's Quorum in our ward and the kids had so much fun seeing all of their friends and cousins all dressed up. Livvy couldn't help but give Dawson the monkey a squeeze. I think she was really after the fake banana in his pocket :)

The kids with Aunt Fallon. Wyatt loved that she was a kitty and kept asking to 'pet her'.
All of the Turner cousins. Dawson the monkey, Weston the fireman, Wyatt the welder, Livvy the Tinkerbell, and Crew the dragon ( I think, he was covered up most of the night so I'm not exactly sure what his costume was, but he was sure cute!)

After the Trunk or Treat we went around to all of the aunts and uncles and grandparents and then headed up to the Gillette's for a fun dinner and games. Then we had a late-night bash with Thad and Lori and Tara and Nathan complete with lots of snacks and a scary movie while the kids crashed on the couch watching their own 'not so scary' movie. Great fun and a Great Halloween!

"The Quest is Over"

This quote is direct from Shelby's mouth this evening "The Quest is Over." Isn't that hilarious? He's such a hunting freak. Anyway- Shelby shot his elk this afternoon after weeks of scouting, tracking, and searching. It's not the big one that he wanted to get, but still a pretty good sized 6 point, so he's happy. And I'm thrilled that I have my husband back! For a few days at least- you know he still has till December to shoot a deer and he can start trapping on Saturday....oh well :)

This is a bear track that he found in what he now calls "Bear Canyon" which only means that he now knows exactly where to shoot a bear next fall. You can't blame him for doing what he loves- right?

A few of my fave's from the wedding

Hailey finally posted pictures of the wedding, so now I can post a few of my favorites too.
Love Love Love this picture of Livvy and Hailey. The best part is that it wasn't staged. Livvy just walked over to Hailey, climbed up, and took away the bouquet, just in time for a picture. Then we made her give it back.............

This one is really only great because I love Wyatt and Dawson with their hands in their pockets.

For more pics from the fun day, see Blake and Hailey's blog on my list of Blog Buddies. By the way- they're the Dixons.
