Happy Birthday Uncle Elder Scoffield

It's Shelby's little brother Shane's birthday today. He is currently serving a mission in the British Columbia Canada mission. Since we just recently got to talk to him at Mother's Day, the kids keep bringing him up. He by far has the most fashion sense of the boys in his family so whenever I put Wyatt in a pair of plaid shorts or a polo shirt, he always exclaims "Hey- I look like Shaner!" That is quite a compliment. Shane has now been out for 8 months ish and when he checks our blog this week I want to let him know we are thinking about him and missing him a ton. Happy Birthday Elder Scoffield!

Girls Weekend in Park City

So, as you can tell from my earlier blogs, I am kinda a Stephenie Meyer (Twilight) freak. I have loved all of her books, and when one of the great ladies pictured told me that she was having a book signing in SLC, I knew we had to go. We planned a fun weekend getaway with just us girls. We left on Friday and headed to Park City where we shopped the outlets until they kicked us out, then headed back to the condo to laugh till the wee hours. The next morning we went to the book signing and received our personalized autographed copies of 'The Host' (I HIGHLY recommend it). It was really funny because we were making fun of all the 'crazy fans' there and then we realized that we were just as bad because we had driven 4 hours with $4 gas prices just to get this lady to sign our books :). Then we headed to Tai Pan and IKEA for more fun shopping. I can just tell you that it's been a long time since I laughed that hard and had that much fun. Thanks ladies for inviting me and giving me an excuse for some great 'me' time. I needed it.

Pheasant Farmers

So my crazy husband decided that he needed yet another hobby: raising pheasants. I know most of you are thinking WHAT? WHY? That's my thought exactly. But the kids were sure excited when he brought them home. I guess the plan is to raise them and then let them go and shoot them. Hmmmm......I still dont' get it.
Livvy showing me how to "Not Touch Them". She just likes to look.

Not Wyatt though, he'll love them till they break.

Updates and Such

Since I still haven't decided on a camera ( I can't decide between the Canon Powersot SD750 Elph and the Kodak Easyshare M853 RED, so if you know anything about either one-please help!) I decided to give you a text update.

Grandma Wendy came down this last weekend and the kids were so excited to see her that they could hardly stand it. Livvy wanted nothing to do with me and Wyatt was glued to her side. They played soccer, swang in the swings for hours, and we went shopping at the Wal-Mart. A pretty laid-back weekend, but the kids are so lucky to have such a fun and involved grandma- she's a great mother-in-law to boot.

Livvy learned how to jump with both feet coming off the floor. She actually learned to do this while throwing a fit and it scared her a little, but now she thinks she's hot stuff.

Wyatt finished up the preschool year and is anxiously asking when we can start going swimming. Me too!

We are planning a couple of fun trips this week. On Wednesday we are heading to Boise to the zoo with friends and next weekend we are packing up our tent and four-wheeler and heading up to the hills behind Gooding for a fun camping trip. JUST US! We've never done that before....It should be a fun week and hopefully, with your feedback, I'll have picked a camera to document it all!

So sad...

I just ran out to my car to grab my camera so that I could update you all with the fun happenings going on lately. I also filled up my arms with all the crap that I could carry in to put away. Then I tripped and dropped my camera, and now it will not turn on. I am soooo sad. I have the pictures on my memory card, but now I'll have to buy a new camera before you all can be updated on the daily going-ons of the Scoffield Fam. Don't cry dear blog readers. My birthday is coming up soon and hopefully I will get the necessary hints across.........

Twilight Addiction

Even though several of my buddies have posted the Twilight Trailer on their blogs, I feel I must post it on mine as well or risk not being a true fan :).

Twilight Trailer on MySpace TV

Also- since I am going to be getting two of my books autographed and receiving Stephenie Meyer's new book "The Host" autographed as well in TWO days, I have to at least mention the reason that I am so excited to go on my girl's trip, other than to get away from the pressures of every day life that is. I can't WAIT!

Future Picasso's

On Saturday we set about to make homemade Mother's Day cards for the grandmas that I didn't have to mail them to (they are slightly large). I set the kids up to paint, and I had no idea how much they would like it. Wyatt's painted a lot at school, but this was Livvy's first time and she was VERY serious about it. She painted for over an hour and knew exactly what colors she wanted and when. They were so cute with their little paintbrushes and big grins.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!

We have had lots of people ask how long Livvy's hair would be if it was straight. It is past her shoulder-blades. To prove it, I am posting this pic of her just out of the bath.

Major Milestones

Two big things happened in our family today that we have been working toward for a loooooong time.

1) Wyatt was able to get himself dressed from head to toe all by himself.

2) Livvy is sleeping soundly for the first time ever in her Dora toddler bed.

I have been begging Livvy to try to sleep in her Dora bed since her birthday over a month ago, but she has insisted that the big girl bed is her crib and the toddler bed is where her babies sleep. Finally today I kinda forced the issue, but she went right to sleep for a nap after a song or two without getting up once! What a big girl! We'll wait and see how she does tonight, but I am thrilled. I really want to sneak in there and take a picture to post, but I don't dare wake her up. Maybe I'll sneak in there just before she usually wakes up..............

Cousins

On the Turner side of the family, Wyatt and Livvy only have two cousins that can barely walk. However, on Shelby's side of the family they have tons of extended family cousins that they love to spend time with. The last time we were in Tremonton we took some fun pictures of them spending time together. Here's one of Wyatt, Livvy, Taylee, Jocee, Tate and Wes:

Livvy absolutely LOVES Taylee. Here they are playing 'Ring Around the Rosie'.

Wyatt having a bike race with the boys.

Livvy and Taylee eating ice cream on the swing.

They love their cousins so much and really miss spending time with them. P.S. I miss their mom's too.
