Wyatt and Livvy love to watch the Living Scripture videos. Their recent favorite is 'Journey to the Promised Land'. When Wyatt falls in love with something- it consumes his every thought and all playtime activities. A few examples:
I stuck my head out the back door to check on the kids playing. I said 'Hi guys. Whatcha playing?' Wyatt said 'Hi Mom! We're playing Nephi and I'm leading Livvy to the promised land!"
Later that same day.....they had found one of Livvy's jewelry boxes- a silver one with a hinged lid. They were carrying it around the yard. Wyatt informed me that it was the liahona. When Livvy wanted her turn to play with it, he informed her that unfortunately she was not righteous enough to play with the liahona. Maybe when she was 5, she would be more righteous :)
They fought so much over the stupid liahona (ironic, I know) AND it was really Livvy's afterall, so Shelby promised to make Wyatt his own liahona at work. What a great dad. Wyatt gave him very specific instructions. It had to be green. It had to have a lid. It had to have a pointer that spun around and would point the way. So Shelby built it. Thinking Wyatt would be thrilled, we went to pick it up. His reaction: Nice try Dad. Do it again and this time it needs to have glass for a lid and letters written on it. To which his loving dad told him- TOO BAD- this is the liahona that you get. So he now loves it.
At the parade the other day, he took two stones to Grandpa Beck and asked him if he knew how to scrape two stones together to make fire like Nephi does. :)
Yesterday, Livvy was having a moment :). Wyatt told me- Why does she always have to murmur?? I said - what? He said- she always is murmuring just like Laman and Lemuel :).
I love this crazy kid.
