Pepsi, Chocolate, and a Good Book
I have to tell you that I am sometimes so insanely SIMPLE. This afternoon I was feeling sorry for myself about a few things going on in my life right now and I thought- okay- no more laundry today, no more work. You are going to sit down in your favorite chair with a good book, a can of cold Pepsi and a handful of Cadbury eggs and just relax. An hour later, I feel like a new woman. I just felt like passing on this word of advice for anyone else today who feels like they need a pick-me-up. Pepsi, Chocolate, and a Good Book works every time.

Birthdays- Birthdays- Everywhere!
Our sweet little Livvy Louise turned 2 on Monday, March 24th. Since the kids' birthdays are only two days apart, we had a joint birthday party that night with Shelby's parents and my whole family. Livvy's birthday cake was a Minnie Mouse, which she thought was hilarious. But she also had to have Dora decorations and a princess hat- she is very into her "pretties". We balanced that out with Wyatt's "Lightning McQueen" cake and decorations. Grandpa and Grandma Scoffield came and helped make a sandbox and set up the swing set so that as soon as it gets less muddy- they can enjoy the outdoors. The kids were so spoiled rotten by all of the grandparents and aunts and uncles- Wyatt got several guns, chaps, holsters, a bow and arrow, swimming toys, clothes, and a new camping chair- not to mention the new twin bed that his daddy made him that looks like a tractor. It has lights, a steering wheel, and a gear shift. Wyatt absolutely loves it- I'll have to post pictures of that later.
Livvy was just as spoiled with a baby to take to the swimming pool, another baby with a car seat, the Dora twin babies, clothes, play food, a new camping chair, and a new Dora toddler bedroom set. PLEASE remember that it was not her parents that bought them all of this crap- I just have to find the places to put it all........
Wyatt turned 4 on March 26th. To make his birthday special, since we had already had his party two days before, I went to his preschool and helped them make cupcake and decorate them and read them a few stories. Wyatt loves to read books with me. Then we went swimming as a family at 1000 Springs- I might post pictures of that if I get any good ones. All in all it was a fun birthday week.
Easter
With Easter so early this year, the Easter Egg Hunt was FREEZING cold. We were only there about 3 minutes early, but Livvy's hands were like ice. Having just got home from Mesquite, I was really in "glove" mode. But once the horn blew- they were off!
They sure got to practice their hunting skills this year as they had two Easter egg hunts. They also had to search for their Easter baskets from the Easter bunny.
Then we headed off to Grandma Turner's for the MONSTER Easter Egg Hunt.Wyatt was so funny because he refused to get any of the easter eggs that were in plain sight or easy. He insisted on getting the ones he could hardly reach and the ones that were hidden in the sagebrush. Livvy kept getting eggs until her basket was overflowing and she still kept telling us "MORE- MORE- MORE". They had a lot of fun.
Mesquite- Nice and Warm-
Livvy's fat toes loved the warm weather and pretty blue water. We headed to Mesquite for Spring Break with all of the girls in my family and their kids. We spent a week hanging out with cousins by the pool side. It was 78 degrees and felt SO GOOD!
Wyatt and Livvy were so excited to swim that the first day we got there they would not even wait to put on their swimming suite- so we just stripped them-
We spent the days soaking up the rays, eating in the buffets, and playing tag on the lawn.
We did find a casino nearby on one of our daily walks that had a huge fountain and tons of ducks. The kids were hilarious while they tried to catch them. Livvy actually did get a finger on one- she's lucky she didn't get bit! We had a blast just relaxing and enjoying each other. The ride down there was soooo long, but well worth it. I am hoping to make this an annual tradition for me and the kids.

Okay Okay- I finally took the plunge!
I finally did it! I finally took the plunge and made my own blog! Jinger- are you happy now? I had been hearing about this weird blog phenomenon for month's now- first from my cousing Bridget and then Jinger. Too much work, I thought, but then I started to get addicted to checking my friends' blogs when I was bored......so here I am. Now you can all check mine when you are bored too! There will be more to come soon with birthdays and Easter, but maybe tomorrow, right now I need a Pepsi :)
