Hailey's Wedding and Reception

So my little sister did it. She tied the knot. Sorry for the lack of posting this last week, but I serioulsy have no idea where the week went. My sweet husband watched the kids every night this week so that I could help out with wedding stuff. Then Thursday evening we went with Hailey through the Twin Falls Temple. On Friday she was married at 10:00 am and we had a fun luncheon at the Turf Club with family and friends. Last night we had a fun reception full of people, dancing, and food. Hailey had all of the girls in our family learn a line dance that we did- we looked like dorks I'm sure, but we had a blast. My sis Fallon sang and Austin played the guitar. Below are a few fun pictures of us all dancing. Livvy and Austin's son Dawson really were so adorable dancing together.

Wyatt loved dancing with his aunt Hailey and doing his own tricks too.

It was such a fun night. I know that most families don't get the dancing thing, but I've grown up dancing in the living room with my brothers and sisters. We love to boogie!

Temple Weekend

Last weekend we had the opportunity to participate in the events surrounding the Twin Falls Temple Dedication. Below are pictures from the Youth Cultural Celebration that was SO fun to watch. Below is President Monson- This is all of the youth from 14 stakes that participated - I couldn't believe how many kids were there!
This is the Wendell/Carey stakes that both of my sisters and many of your siblings probably- danced in. They were so cute in their pioneer skirts and bonnets and danced their hearts out. I have seriously never seen my sisters smile that big.
Another stake that did a dance about the Mexican culture- the dresses were so cute.

This one was so fun too- 50's swing dance. The Youth Celebration was so fun. Then the next evening we were able to be in the temple for the dedication. Mom, Dad, and Grandma Turner were actually in the Celestial Room with the Prophet and President Eyring. The rest of my siblings and their spouses were all in entrance to the Baptismal Room. It was so cool and fun to see.

Checklist for this Weekend-

This weekend holds some really fun and exciting stuff-

1) Garage saling this morning- I know I'm a geek, but I love it.

2) Going to the Dance Extravaganza tonight- and Prophet Watching.

3) Going to the Twin Falls Temple Dedication - INSIDE THE TEMPLE! and again- Prophet Watching.

But right now I am just enjoying the peace and quiet that comes with no children or husband in my house. Shelby is hunting (big surprise) and the kids are at Grandma's having their last sleepover with Aunt Hailey before she becomes an old married lady. Peace and quiet is worth it's weight in gold I'm telling ya.

Big Announcement

OOOOOHHHH BABY! I cannot wait for this movie to come out! I am stoked beyond belief. Since I just finished my Breaking Dawn Book- Top 5 books that I have ever read- bar none- I am so excited to see it on the big screen. I know that the movies are NEVER as good as the books, but I'm still excited- November 21st baby- Anybody wanna go?

The Good Ole' Gooding County Fair and Rodeo

Many of you ex-hicks from the sticks are I'm sure sad and feeling a bit guilty that you missed all the action from the Gooding County Fair this year- am I right? Not to worry- I'll fill you in.

1) I apologize that I don't have any pictures- Shelby stole- yes stole- my camera this weekend to take pictures of antelope. Grrrrrrr.

2) The mini donut man was nowhere to be found- double grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

3) We saw the usual farm animals- Wyatt had to be dragged away from the bunnies. Livvy could really care less as long as she got her Pepsi (it was really Root Beer, but I know I have created a monster)

4) We took the kids to the rodeo on Friday night because my brother Austin was participating in the team roping. Wyatt spent most of the first 30 minutes with his hears covered until he got used to the noise- then he just laughed at the poor cowboys getting bucked off- As usual he loved the rodeo. Livvy didn't hardly look in the arena, she just loved her cotton candy and dancing to all the music. After the team roping, we snuck out early from the rodeo and let the kids ride a few rides. Livvy was a little freaked at first, but started to really like it on the second ride.

All in all it was a fun weekend and a great fun chance to see lots of old friends that we don't get to spend very much time with anymore for some reason and some of you who have deserted the sticks- it was great to see you too.

My little vocalist

I noticed that most of my posts lately have been about Wyatt so I decided to inform you of Livvy's newest talent- the girl loves to sing! She knows all the words to 'I love to see the temple', 'I am a child of God', 'Jesus wants me for a sunbeam' and many more Primary songs. She also LOVES to sing 'Choo Choo Soul' songs (those of you with kids have probably seen her on the Disney Channel- I downloaded her CD from I-Tunes for the kids to listen to in the car). Livvy sings all of the words and even the fancy 'ooooooooooo-oooooo0oooo- ooooo' parts. You know what I'm talking about right? She's so funny and loves it so much. She tries to copy or pick up any song on tv, or that I am singing with the radio. Watch out Celine Dion- here Livvy comes!

More Island Park Pictures

Wyatt practiced and practiced riding his bike all weekend. We don't have anywhere for him to ride out here in the sticks of Gooding, so this was his only chance. He got so fast!
Livvy was much slower, but again-she's had no practice! So I pulled her around with a rope to make it a faster experience.
All the girls in camp washing the tables before dinner.
Grandpa Jon taking the kids for a ride in the bike trailer.
This is Shelby's Dad in his apron grilling up our breakfast. He looks really great because the apron is so long that it appears he has nothing on but the apron. I giggle every time I look at this picture.
Shelby is taking the above picture of his parents, Wyatt and Livvy and me in our canoes.
Wyatt and Livvy stayed in Island Park for a few days with Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Jon so that Mom could go to Hailey's shower in SLC. The above picture is the kids on a nature walk along the Big Springs River with their cousin Taylee. Wyatt and Taylee would race along the trail until they came to a sign and then wait for Grandma to read it to them and then they'd race to the next one.
Grandma, Uncle Leonard, Wyatt, Livvy and Kloee playing ring-around-the-rosies in camp.
Shelby and I (look at Shelby trying to balance us!) That dang broken canoe! (See earlier Island Park Post)

Wyatt Passed Level 1 of Swimming Lessons!

As you know from our earlier post- Wyatt has been taking swimming lessons at the Wendell Pool. He's had the two greatest teachers- both his Aunt Hailey and Aunt Fallon. He learned so much from them and managed to do a semi-decent job of listening and hanging onto the side when it wasn't his turn. What can I say- the kid loves to swim and it is torture for him to keep his head out of the water. Below he is showing off his certificate and sucker (with his eyes closed- oops!)
These are some of the kids in Wyatt's class getting ready to jump in and swim to the wall. Wyatt thinks he is pretty cold so he's preventing his jewels :).
Wyatt and Tate holding tight as they participate in the human train.

The real life shot of Wyatt jumping off the diving board. The funny part that I missed at the end was him trying to swim back out into the deep water rather than have to get out and get his towel on. Oh that fearless little devil! We were so proud of how hard Wyatt tried to learn and listen in his class and so grateful that he had such great teachers who understood him and were soooo patient. Thanks girls!

Hailey's Beck Family Bridal Shower

Hailey had her bridal shower in Salt Lake with the Beck Family on Tuesday evening. My aunt Shelley threw the shower for her and is so stinkin creative! It was a cowgirl theme and so cute! Below is some of us girls working on Hailey's cowgirl quilt. Hailey opening her presents. She got so many cute things! The Beck family girls seriously spoiled her.
All of the Beck cousins (that were there- a few are missing). Back left- Lindsey, Shayla, Hailey, Me, Jessica holding Ady, Kristan, Brandy holding Codi- front row- Anika, Kristy, and Becky. We stayed up laughing until 2:00 in the morning but was so worth it. It was so fun to get down there to see my fun cousins and aunts that I don't get to see very often. Love you guys!

Wyatt's Swimming Lessons

Wyatt and his friend Tate have been taking swimming lessons over to the Wendell Pool and guess who his teachers are- his aunts Hailey and Fallon. He had to miss a few days because of our camping trip to Island Park- but is loving it. Check out his cool goggles! It looks like Fallon is helping him jump off the diving board- she is actually holding him back from jumping before Hailey is ready. No fear that kid!
Cute shot of Wyatt floating back to the ladder with his aunt Hailey.

Tomorrow is the last day of swimming lessons and I hope to get some more cute pictures or videos for you of my little fish.

Island Park Camping Trip

We drove the five hour trip to Island Park last Friday night for Shelby's family's annual camping trip. I was so excited to see everyone and have lots of adventures with my kids. On Saturday morning we got up and headed to West Yellowstone. We took old-fashioned pictures (I'll post those later) and then went to the Yellowston Bear and Wolf Discovery Center. The kids had so much fun looking at the bears and wolves and I think they learned alot in the process.
Here's Livvy with her Grandpa JonBelow is my best friend Brandee- She kept joking around that she had to stay away from me or risk having her picture on the web for all to see- Ha Ha Brandee- got you anyway! She's 9 months pregnant with her 3rd and looks so good!
They had a bear rug on display so the kids could feel what bear fur really feels like. Wyatt thought it was hilarious to pretend that the bear was biting off his arm.

Livvy was a little less sure about this bear. I don't know who told her mean things about bears- but the entire trip she was quite sure that they were waiting in the woods to eat her. She'd shake her finger at the trees as we were driving down the road and say "No No bears- you no eat me!"
Here's a shot of most of the family on the platform watching the bears- I can pick out Wyatt, Nancy, Steven, Livvy, Grandpa Jon, Grandma Wendy, Tate and Holly- the rest are further down on the platform.

Wyatt absolutely loved looking at the bears through these telescopes. He was so funny.

Here the kids are exploring a tee-pee at the exit of the Discovery Center- Livvy is showing you what the Indians say.
Here's a shot of all of the cousins that went with us- there are actually quite a few missing, but never fail - Wyatt is bossing Wyatt around trying to get him to stand behind her. That's where the pictures end- but the fun sure doesn't! I just was a little chicken about carrying my camera all over with me since it's still new. Shelby and I were able to go on a 4 wheeler ride at dusk with some of the other couples and we saw a cow moose, a skunk, and 2 deer and Shelby succeeded in almost making me pee my pants in fear as he jumped our 4 wheeler and kept skidding to a stop. Men and their toys! We also went on a 2 hour canoe trip down the "Icy Cold River" as Wyatt calls it. It's really quite funny because Shelby and I had been trying to comfort those that thought we were crazy for taking our kids in a tippy canoe. I said "Shelby and I have both canoed alot- we'll be fine." We got to the dock and they put our canoe in- Shelby climbed in first, then I put Livvy and her chair in, then I climbed in and sat down. We had a narrow, pointed bottom canoe and flipped over immediately. Livvy went flying (she had a life jacket on) but we were all soaking wet. It was hilarious. I am laughing right now even as I am typing it. It turns out that my seat in the canoe was broken and we didn't find out until half way down the river- we just thought it was exceptionally tippy. Livvy ended up floating down the river with Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Jon with Wyatt in their nice wide flat bottom canoe- luck of the draw I guess. I giggled all the way down the river at our funny humbling experience. We did see a Bald Eage and her eaglets?- 3 bull moose and lots of fish on our canoe trip. The kids fished with their fake fishing pole and sucked on suckers and Shelby and I just tried not to flip ourselves back in the "Icy Cold River". It was a great trip and I cried and cried to leave Shelby's wonderful family and my great friends Brandee and Amie. It reminded me how much fun we always had in Tremonton and now those time have just become more and more precious. Grandma Wendy did take lots of pictures on her camera of our canoe trip and other fun activities and will hopefully email them to me soon to post.
